Life has a way of giving you exactly what you need, even if you don't see its purpose at the time it's given...
I went to college from 2001-2005, (pre-blogging, pre-Facebook, pre-twitter, pre-smartphones, pre-flat screens), with the idea that I'd be an English teacher, which morphed into English professor, which evolved into simply a Creative Writing major. Now, 8 years after earning my BA, I am living in a world of social media and the greatest revelation is that all of this social media is geared toward writing! I once thought my writing major was just a waste of a degree, and now I find myself in demand for my writing and creative ability!
At the ripe old age of 30, I finally feel like I'm catching my wave. After graduating from college, burned out on studying, I spent the better part of my 20's blissfully unaware of my own need to continue to learn, teach, and evolve. Now I have a renewed craving for knowledge and have finally stood up in the current of my life.
I am a self-taught advanced user of Photoshop and an intermediate photographer but consider myself a novice in effectively utilizing social media for business purposes. I have submerged myself in articles about social media marketing (#smm) as well as following and studying the work of industry leaders.
I will use this space to pool my thoughts and share what I am learning.
